hello !

i’ve gotten many requests for the recipe since i posted a note on this cake so i’m finally taking the time to write up the recipe for ya : ) if you’re here just for the recipe, feel free to skip the rambling !

a little bakery update:

scenes from the morning of last saturday’s pop up—last time baking out of my home kitchen for a pop up !

it’s been a hectic, stressful few weeks (i feel like i say this every single time, i’m sorry) getting everything ready to move into a commercial kitchen but i’m so excited to say that it’s FINALLY HAPPENING !!! i have an inspection scheduled this week and (if i pass) i’ll be able to work & pop up out of the kitchen woohoo !

am i nervous and anxious about this transition ? yep. am i excited to finally move out of my tiny home kitchen ? hell yeah. i know how privileged i was/am to be able to work out of my house and make it work as a full time job but there were many moments when i felt stuck, overwhelmed, and absolutely miserable because i was working alone for 50-60 hours a week out of our tiny apartment.

once i move into the kitchen, i’ll have no choice but to work under 40 hours because every hour in the kitchen is additional expense *sobs* which will (hopefully) force me to have a better work life balance and !!! i’ll finally be able to work with other people, which i’m so so excited about.

i’m also hoping that working less hours in the kitchen will allow me to write more regularly for you ! i have all these ideas brewing in my head for what to write but i haven’t had the time nor the mental space to sit down and write them down. thank you for being patient with me, i promise i’ll be be more diligent in writing newsletters for you.
